Upper Yarra Reservoir Park & camping grounds set to reopen
After three false starts and around 12-months after completion the Upper Yarra Reservoir Park and camping grounds will finally reopen on 17 September.
In Parliament recently, State Liberal Member for Eildon Cindy McLeish questioned the Minister about the prolonged delays opening the newly developed park and camping area to the public.
Ms McLeish said, “The park and camping grounds have been closed to the public for over three years. Kids are desperate to get onto the new playground. They’ve been able to catch glimpses of it but not able to use it. The community and visitors want to utilise the communal space.”
The Minister responded to Ms McLeish’s question, “The park is set to reopen to the public shortly”, failing to provide a date or timeframe. Parks Victoria have since confirmed the grounds will reopen on Saturday 17 September 2022, accessible 7-days a week from 8am to 5pm.
Ms McLeish continues, “After a long wait and little communication from the Andrews Labor Government, the community will finally be able to enjoy the newly developed park and camping grounds.”
