Take jabs “around the grounds” to footy’s heartland

The Liberal Nationals are today calling on the Government to take vaccinations to footy’s heartland to celebrate the Grand Final.

If the Government can’t give the green light to the MCG as a one-day vaccination hub, traditional suburban venues must be the fall-back.

The Grand Final public holiday, on Friday next week, is the ideal opportunity to allow footy fans to be vaccinated in their team’s colours at their club home bases.

Fans of Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs can not attend the Grand Final in Perth, but why can’t they fly the flag the day before the game and be vaccinated at the same time?

Demons fans would be vaccinated at either of their club’s training bases Casey Fields or Gosch’s Paddock.

The Bulldogs devotees would be jabbed at Whitten Oval as the excitement for the Grand Final builds.

Other club bases could also be involved in a one-day initiative that would not only raise vaccination rates, but lift the spirit of Victorians at a special time of year.
