Supporting local students at St Brigid’s Primary School

St Brigid’s Primary School in Healesville will benefit from a Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government, with new funding to deliver $2 million to upgrade facilities at the primary school.

State Liberal Member for Eildon, Cindy McLeish said, redevelopments at St Brigid’s Primary School will enhance the school with new contemporary learning spaces and the removal of redundant portables.

“These upgrades will put the schools 2020 Masterplan into action, removing old, outdated portables and learning areas, replacing them with four new general areas and create a new outdoor learning area.”

“This will make a positive difference and learning experience for current and future students and staff.”

St Brigid’s student enrolments have increased substantially in the past eight years requiring more teaching and learning areas at the school.

The Liberals and Nationals’ plan will provide $700 million to upgrade existing and build new Catholic and Independent schools across Victoria over the next four years.

Victoria currently has 729 independent and non-government schools, 37 per cent of Victorian students attending.

This important commitment will mean better facilities for hundreds of thousands of students and provide much-needed certainty for school communities across Victoria.

Ms McLeish continues, “Non-government schools play an important role in educating and supporting students. They are a rapidly growing sector that deliver considerable benefits to local communities and deserve to be supported.”

“The Liberals and Nationals are committed to supporting our students by delivering the facilities they need, to develop and learn,” Ms McLeish concludes.
