A Matthew Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will restore Maroondah Reservoir Park, with funding to revitalise the area and upgrade essential infrastructure.

Under the Andrews Labor Government, the park has fallen into disrepair with a pothole riddled driveway, substandard barbecues, and inadequate bathroom facilities.

Despite being known for the stunning scenery, the surrounding gardens have not been maintained and a children’s playground was removed due to its hazardous condition.

A $2.8 million commitment by the Victorian Liberals and Nationals will deliver essential upgrades and maintenance to the area.

This will include upgraded park furniture, installation of an environmentally friendly children’s playground, picnic and barbeque areas, and toilet facilities.

Furthermore, the funding will make access safer by repairing and resurfacing the car park, as well as landscaping, and effective weed management.

Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy, said investing in local projects is key to Victoria’s recovery.

“The Liberals and Nationals are proud to back local projects right across Victoria,” Mr Guy said.

“With this investment, families and tourists will once again be able to utilise the upgraded facilities, while enjoying the scenery at the popular location.”

Shadow Minister for Tourism, Cindy McLeish said the investment would restore Maroondah Dam as a flagship tourist destination in Healesville.

“Tourists flock to the Yarra Valley all year round, and the Liberals and Nationals will ensure that the Maroondah Dam is a location that must not be missed,” Ms McLeish said.

“These essential upgrades, including the installation of a playground, will provide a picturesque picnic spot for the whole family to enjoy.”
