Opposition calls for rapid testing
The Opposition have called on the State Labor Government to introduce rapid testing for community health benefits and help prevent Victorians being plunged into further lockdowns.
State Liberal Member for Eildon, Cindy McLeish MP along with her colleagues brought rapid COVID-19 testing to parliament and were tested as an example of their plan to reopen Victoria.
Ms McLeish said, “The Liberal Nationals know that conducting rapid tests will help Victoria’s essential services reopen and get Victoria back on track.
“We can get students back into the classroom safely, get people back to major events, back into the office and expand hospitality.”
Daniel Andrews and the State Labor Government refused to receive a rapid test before parliament sat and refuse to implement rapid testing in the community. It is clear Dan has no plan to help Victoria reopen safely.
Ms McLeish continues, “Rapid testing is already being used in the Victorian court system and we can see that it is effective. Increasing rapid testing use in the community will make such a positive difference to Victorians getting their lives back.”
