Liberals Nationals fund Queens Park & Don Road Sporting Complex development
A Matt Guy led Liberals and Nationals Government have committed $2 million for sporting facility upgrades in Healesville.
Both Queens Park and Don Road Sporting Complex will be the beneficiaries of plans for modern upgrades to better accommodate current and future players.
High priority upgrades at Queens Park include new home and visitor changerooms and toilets which are in a terrible condition, as well as the removal of termite damaged areas. Queens Park is home to Healesville AusKick, Healesville Junior Football Club and Healesville Cricket Club who will all benefit from this much-needed development.
Broader master planning for Queens Park and Don Road Sporting Complex will facilitate the first steps of a major redevelopment Master Plan. This plan will include pavilion feasibility, detailed design works, and site service upgrade works in preparation for a new pavilion at Don Road. The Don Road Sporting Complex is the main sporting complex in Healesville, utilised by more than 10,000 residents and home to the Healesville Senior Football Club, Healesville Netball Club and Healesville Soccer Club.
State Liberal Member for Eildon, Cindy McLeish, said she was excited to announce the redevelopment to improve facilities at both Queens Park and the Don Road Sporting Complex.
“These developments will make such a positive difference for club players and the Healesville community.”
“Sporting teams at Queens Park are currently using really ordinary facilities, with change rooms that are well below standard. This redevelopment will improve the game experience for members and away teams for years to come.”
“The council and community know there needs to be significant work done at Don Road Sporting Complex to accommodate the increasing Healesville population ad growing sports teams and are eager to get the ball rolling.”
