Healesville- Koo Wee Rup Road repair win
18 March 2022
Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road is set to undergo significant pavement repairs after State Liberal Member for Eildon, Cindy McLeish called on the Labor Government to ensure road works took place.
Ms McLeish raised community concern in parliament about the dire condition of the road between Healesville and Woori Yallock and the risk it posed to drivers.
Since Ms McLeish’s advocacy, five locations along Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road have been identified to undergo significant pavement repairs which are scheduled to be completed shortly. Whilst some work has recently been completed between Symes Road and Dalry Road, much more still needs to be done.
Ms McLeish said “It’s about time serious repairs were made to the Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road. It will make such a difference for the community and motorists.”
“People are fed up with the shocking condition of the road and rightly so. The road is filled with crumbling shoulders, potholes, faded lines and broken surface. The camber is all over the place.”
Road repairs are an ongoing request of Ms McLeish to the city centric State Labor Government who tends to turn a blind eye to the quality of outer suburb and regional Victorian roads.
“The problem of dodgy roads across the region needs to be addressed. Quick band aid fixes, warning signs and slowing the speed limit just won’t cut it.”
“Real works need to be done and it is a relief for the community to finally see repairs being made on Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road,” Ms McLeish concludes.
