Grants to support sporting clubs open
State Member for Eildon Cindy McLeish is encouraging local sporting and active recreation clubs to apply for the Community Sport Sector COVD-19 Survival Pack, which was launched last week.
Ms McLeish said, “This is an opportunity for sporting and active recreation clubs to secure some extra funding to get back on their feet post-COVID-19.”
All local sporting clubs, leagues and associations are eligible to apply for funding which ranges from $1,000 for individual clubs to $350,000 for large state sporting associations.
Ms McLeish continues, “Sporting clubs play such an important role in our community and improve fitness and mental wellbeing.”
“During these challenging times, I think we’ve all missed the social aspects, being active and the competition our clubs provide.”
“It’s important we support our local sporting and active recreation clubs, especially now as they come out of restrictions.”
Applications close 15 June 2020, or until funding allocation is exhausted. For directions on how to apply visit: https://sport.vic.gov.au/grants-and-funding/our-grants/community-sport-sector-coronavirus-covid-19-short-term-survival-package
