Not one penny - Yarra Valley schools miss out again

State Liberal Member for Eildon Cindy McLeish has slammed the Andrews Labor government’s 2017 Budget which fails to deliver new funding for school upgrades in the Yarra Valley.
“Daniel Andrews has once again refused to fund desperately needed projects in our region despite raising taxes on local households,” Ms McLeish said.
Ms McLeish said she was bitterly disappointed that many schools in the region had missed out again.
“Despite Daniel Andrews claiming to build an education state, he has not delivered one penny for capital works at Yarra Valley schools over the last two budgets.”
“Our region is facing significant challenges with a lack of job opportunities for young people. Our kids need a top education to give them a strong start, but our schools are having great difficulty delivering because of outdated facilities.”
Ms McLeish said she will now renew efforts to convince the State government over the needed for investment into local schools.
“This budget has failed to deliver. That’s why I will renew my campaign towards securing the investment our local schools need in the next budget.”
“Over the coming months I will work with our local schools and communities to tell Daniel Andrews our kids deserve better,” Ms McLeish concluded.
