Coalition calls on Andrews to rebuild Healesville fire station
State Leader of the Opposition Matthew Guy and State Member for Eildon Cindy McLeish have called on the Andrews Labor government to fund the construction of a new Healesville fire station during a visit to the Yarra Valley today.
“Cindy McLeish has told me about the need for a new fire station in Healesville. Having seen the current facilities it is clear that Healesville CFA volunteers deserve better,” Mr Guy said.
“The trucks and appliances have now outgrown the station, the brigade volunteers have no parking and there are no change rooms.”
Ms McLeish said the former Coalition government committed $1.75 million for the acquisition of land and construction of a new fire station in 2014.
“This project is long overdue. Its time Daniel Andrews steps up to the plate and delivers for Healesville CFA volunteers.”
Ms McLeish said she had recently called on the Andrews government to fund the project in the upcoming state budget.
“The government must support CFA volunteers at this brigade who give their time freely and willingly to support their local community and keep it safe.”
